Anxiety and fear have gripped all the intending and already established investors following the invasion of Rt. Hon Ihedioha’s constituted Management Committee who demanded for a quick take over of Concorde Hotel and Casino, Owerri at about 9: 22 PM on Friday, 12 July, 2019.
Meanwhile, some Investors are currently negotiating for another friendly state where they can continued their businesses in a devoid of any political acrimony as it is uncertain with the current Imo State government under the leadership of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha’s “Rebuild Imo” mantra regarding to the plight of the investors who have invested heavily under the previous administration.
Speaking to newsmen, the Media Officer of the hotel, Mrs Ifeoma Nwaigbo recounted that the customers where stranded due to the ill treatment melted on them by overzealous Ihedioha’s new Management Committee.
Mrs Nwaigbo regretted that the governor has vehemently opposed to adhere to terms and conditions in the concession agreement which was publicized by the Rescue Mission Policy of the past administration.
She stated that the governor should note that government is a continue urging him to consider what will happen to his legacy after his reign as Imo governor.
The Media Officer further stressed dismay over the ugly development wondering what will happen to the current and future investors since it has becomes a reoccurring decimal for governors of the state to destabilize the already existing processes.
She urged the governor to allow the Concessionaire to continue his business according to the terms of the agreement so as to safeguard the image of the state.
She further hinted that since the governor’s swearing in ceremony and official inauguration he never called for a meeting so as to ascertain what is on the ground before taking decision. According to her, all the attempts made by the investors to see him proved abortive as his Protocol Officers have continued to shed him from attending to the previous administration partners and investors. “This is not in the best interest of the people” she said.
She therefore called on the attention of the Security Operatives to come to their rescue before it is too late as they continue to receive alleged threatening cell phone calls from an unidentified individuals.
