As 2019/2020 Rotary International Year began early July, 2019, fresh facts have emerged why Rotarians from Rotary, Owerri North Exclusively, elected Chief Kizito Ajaelu as their new president.
Ajaelu, who was a president-elect, formally took over from the immediate past president, Sir Chinedu Ajoku after series of activities.
Daily Nigerian Horn revealed that Ajaelu enjoys the trust and confidence of members who desire to have the district moved to the next level of progress because of his strong leadership qualities.
It was also gathered that they needed a leader with a wide contact, reach and other capabilities that would ensure vibrancy, creativity in the club, and as well arouse the enthusiasm of Rotarians towards the club’s activities, hence it provides the platform for progressives to contribute their time, energies and resources towards helping the poor, and achieving other goals of Rotary International.
A Rotarian who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that members join the club in order to make sacrifices that would benefit the indigent and the general public, hence the imperative for motivation through effective and visionary leadership, noting that Ajaelu; a former House of Assembly aspirant for Ihitte Uboma State Constituency would to move the club forward.
The young Rotarian added: “Chief Ajaelu’s emergence as our new president was a reflection of our collective aspiration. In fact, his inauguration has opened a new chapter of progress for the Owerri North Exclusive, and this is our joy as members. Our hope is lives towards achieving our goals for the Rotary Year.
“You know that Rotary is a humanitarian organization where members strive to make positive impact to society through our six areas of focus. So, we need a vibrant, creative and result-oriented leader, who possesses the skills to motivate and move members into action. And Ajaelu is an embodiment of theses qualities. His mantra of “Connect the World” suggests the target he has set for his administration to achieve. We have confidence in him, and know that he will succeed,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Chief Ajaelu, who is a Director at Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (The Presidency), and the Vice Chairman, Heads of Federal Government Establishments in Imo State, has promised to set enviable precedence for others to follow with the district.
Speaking at his inauguration at Mavis Suites, Owerri, the new president who was full of gratitude to GOD and fellow members, noted his appreciation and readiness to meet the tasks before his team. He solicited the support and corporation of members towards realizing the projects of the 2019/2020 Rotary Year, pledging to carry everyone along.
He equally thanked the former president for his efforts, promising to build on his achievements.
The activities marking his inauguration began with the President’s Night, which had as one of its highpoints, award presentations to some Rotarians and members of the society, including, Chief Mike Ahamba (SAN), and the Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri, Dr. Kingsley Achigbu among others.
